The New Jedi Order is so good. This is reminding me that I haven't finished the series although I have most of them (with a few gaps). I need to get back on that once I finish this six or seven books on my currently reading GoodReads shelf...

Scott, you are mastering the art of powerful storytelling! You had my rapt attention as you described your life-changing reaction to Anakin's death, illustrating the powerful effect great storytelling can have. I too, was very moved by Ryan's "Christ and His Companions" having attended several times with you and Claire. You have some wonderful, intelligent, and creative friends and I'm so grateful to have gotten to know some of them (and coincidentally worked with a few at the library!) I love how you've woven the "gift of creating" our Creator has given us, through the whole piece!

Great post, I feel the same way. The Lord knows how powerful stories are, and I believe the stories us humans create and consume are often reflective of how close or separated we are to the ultimate Truth of God’s redemption story. The Gospel has inspired so much magnificent art. Constrast it with the increasingly base and, frankly, boring contemporary art and stories of today (obviously with numerous exceptions). Truth is so important to art to ground it and give it purpose. Without it, art becomes meaningless, vapid, and increasingly profane.

Very nice and thoughtful post Scott! Well done. Reading about those scenes gave me some goose bumps. I think I'm familiar with each example you shared. I'm certain that at least some of those examples were created without thought of Christianity, but those kinds of acts are always seen as noble and good. It's an illustration of how at our roots, man (non-Christians too) know what is Good and True, but sin blinds and turns man inward.

Scott~ Thank you for your thought~ provoking post. It is a good reminder that all things true and noble do not originate from within man, but have GOD as their source. When the Apostle Paul urges us to think about things that are “honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, having any virtue, or having any praise” , doesn’t the list appear like adjectives describing the attributes of GOD Himself? Your post has given me a lot to think about!
